My Philosophy
Like all mental health professionals, I found my way to this work via my own journey of healing and self discovery. While therapy is not the only path toward wellness, it has been a life-changing ingredient in my story. In more than two decades in the therapist’s chair, I’ve witnessed profound transformation in the lives of many others as well.
I believe that even our most problematic symptoms are the psyche’s way of seeking balance. Sometimes we can name our troubles. Sometimes we can’t. Therapy offers opportunities to understand ourselves in new ways and grow through a unique kind of connection with another person. As we are better able to make sense of our challenges, mourn our losses, and appreciate the ways we’ve coped, even the most devastating circumstances can serve to empower us. We may move ahead with greater ease and a more fulfilling connection to the world and people around us. If we choose to work together, it is my commitment to facilitate this undertaking for you with an open heart, within a safe environment.
