I am a licensed clinical social worker and board certified psychoanalyst working with adolescents and adults in the Union Square neighborhood of New York City, where I have maintained a private practice since 2002. While skilled to address a broad range of problems and concerns, special areas of concentration are trauma, anxiety, transitions, the creative process, and personal empowerment.
In addition to my clinical practice in psychotherapy and psychoanalysis, I frequently write and speak on topics related to sexual violence, personal growth, and creativity, and and am available to share my expertise as a personal consultant. My professional experience also includes crisis intervention for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, work with homebound elderly and others suffering in the aftermath of 9/11, and counseling for families of at-risk teens. I continue to serve as a referral resource for area rape crisis centers as well as art schools and arts organizations.
Professional affiliations: Faculty, the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Study Center; Member, the New York Institute for Psychoanalytic Self Psychology, the International Association for Psychoanalytic Self Psychology, and the American Association for Psychoanalysis in Clinical Social Work, where I served as associate newsletter editor 2010-2015.
